Floating Down the River

08 February 2022

This is a song-based book with the lyrics and tune at the back, making it perfect for daycare, kindergarten and new entrant classrooms. This book has lots of imagery of the New Zealand Summer that tamariki can relate to, with the children floating down the river on a blow up tube, while mum and dad paddle in a canoe, with the family seeing lots of native birds and plants. This book is full of Kiwi culture, which is enhanced by the beautiful illustrations from Emily Boswell. The words and music flow really well and the illustrations give that same calming feeling of a lazy Summer afternoon. This will be a hit with young children I am sure!
