Floyd: Grandma’s Kleptomaniac Cat
If someone was stealing your shoes and your washing, you might be a little upset, but what if the thief was a cute ginger kleptomaniac cat? I think you, like Floyd's neighbours might be a little more forgiving. Floyd is a cat with a problem, he likes to bring treasures to Grandma “One day he even bought her a paint roller covered in fresh paint!”. The problem is these things do not belong to Floyd or Grandma, but their neighbours!
We travel with Floyd on his adventures and discover how the neighbours, instead of being angry with Floyd, start to make gifts for Floyd to ‘steal’. It is a heartwarming story and readers will love the photos of the real-life action cat Floyd at the back. The illustrations by Garry Fox are bright and bold and engaging, it has a fabulous cover with Floyd peeking over a fence which will entice readers to pick it up.
I think most young people will be intrigued by the story of Floyd and it makes for a fun read aloud.
