Flying Furballs:Take-Off!

22 November 2022

Take-Off is a glorious mix of comic, puzzles, stories and fun.

The story begins at CATS (Cat Allied Troops) Headquarters on the outskirts of Paris where the CATS are readying for the DOGZ invasion. The seemingly chaotic team must strategise to outwit their opponents but are they up to the task? Are the DOGZ side any better organised?

This Comic strip saga is interspersed with interesting information on the planes used in conflict and the tactics pilots use in a dogfight. There is also a biography of Katdom’s most dashing fighter Tom Foolery. Other challenges include a seek and find, code cracking and some drawing tips.

There is a correlation to the world war that goes beyond geography but it is subtle within the text rather than the main theme.

Each component of this book is presented in a different way clearly defining it. The illustrations while different in each section complement each other throughout. The puns are both cringe worthy and funny and there are a lot of them. It’s a very busy book.
