Get Outdoors: Brilliant Boredom Busters For Kiwi Kids

22 November 2022

From the photo of the slightly open tent on the cover, right to the very last page, this book invites us to leap into a world of adventure. Paul Adamson explores a range of interesting activities from very energetic cycling and camping adventures, creative projects, such as building forts and creating art works, to growing and cooking food. Unlike so many toys designed for children, this book does not divide the world into gender specific roles.

Each activity is illustrated with enticing photographs and useful drawings. There are excellent coloured sub sections within each activity, such as: “You Will Need” (clearly setting out what is required before starting the activity) and “Did You Know” (providing interesting facts), plus recipes, tips, glossaries, warnings and more. This book provides great alternatives to screen time and encourages children to use their own initiative. It would be useful in any home or primary classroom.
