Have You Seen Tomorrow?
The concept of time as we perceive it with yesterday followed by today and then tomorrow is explored in this story. Not all cultures see time as linear but rather as the past, present and future all co-existing and this story plays with this idea as well. The story is structured well, with the tension building to an almost certain tragedy for the main protagonist, Rabbit. This is averted at the last minute by Rabbit choosing a very positive alternative to becoming Wolf’s dinner.
The illustrations are beautiful, with the quality of watercolour artworks and enhance the narrative. The animal’s facial expressions and body language are also artfully done. There are plenty of interesting ideas raised in this book to discuss with a single child or a group of children.
