Inside Bubble Earth: The Story of Climate Change
Des Hunt has managed to break down an enormous topic to manageable chunks with clear explanations throughout the book. Early in the book the author cleverly draws young readers in with science we have recently experienced namely Covid 19 and living in bubbles. He then builds on this to introduce life forms living in bubbles. The smooth building into science fundamentals and then applying them to climate change takes the reader on a cleverly constructed journey of learning. Once the reader has an understanding of the causes then the author introduces the consequences. Finally Des Hunt offers some suggestions people can do with the awareness they now have of the science of climate change.
The illustrations including photos, diagrams and graphics are colourful, engaging and appropriately support the text.
I found this book easy to read and look forward to sharing it with students and with my grandchildren. It is gentle, factual and practical, which I believe, makes it accessible to a wider audience. I highly recommend this book.
