Kaiana and Teiti

05 August 2020

This book is about a young girl travelling to the Pacific Islands to meet her Grandmother and explore where her family have come from. The lovely thing about it is that they don’t specify which island it is that she visits. The illustration showing her travel simply shows an aeroplane over New Zealand and all the islands in the Pacific. This would allow all Pasifika students to identify with Kaiana and would lead to some great discussions about similarities and differences as they try to determine which island she might be visiting.
