Kia Kaha! Together, standing strong

09 April 2020

I just love this book. The story line, song and illustrations all together make this one a must-read. It sums up how and who we are as New Zealanders: we are diverse in culture, and abilities, have aroha towards others and are kind natured. June, Minky, Ngaere and Pio have captured this spirit here in print, song and pictures.

I had the opportunity to show this book to our new entrants. They were riveted and sang along and I can’t wait to share this book with other classes.

Teachers and parents will all love the message this book offers about standing together, being strong, being kind, learning from others and spreading compassion.

How are you recommending this book? Highly recommended

What’s the book’s opening sentence: Kia kaha! Kia kaha! That's what my friends all say, when someone needs a helping hand while we're at school each day.
