Moon & Sun

30 March 2021

“Moon knows she can never be as bright, warm and beloved as her sister, Sun. She hides away, shy and sad, only coming out at night. But maybe Moon is more important than she realises.”

The illustrations in this book are beautiful and completely compliment the text. Combined they reflect the calming influence of the sun and the moon on our lives, while cleverly showing how siblings can complement each other, instead of one living in the shadow of the other. Szymanik explores the strengths of both the sun and the moon and how they work together and complement each other to make the world a better place. The words are minimal and cleverly written, which will introduce readers to new and rich vocabulary, whilst the story flows poetically.

Moon & Sun is an inspiring tale that reminds us that we all have different strengths which will complement the strengths of others, which is why we work better together.

I really loved this story!
