I would recommend this story as part of any reading resource for year 7-10. The sentence structure is fairly repetitive which enables those less familiar with te reo to pick up the story easier. The illustrations also help with this.

There is a fantastic message of perserverance here which could be used as part of teaching our school values or key competencies.
