The Anzac Billy

01 December 2020

A heart-warming story set during World War I. The family is putting small gifts into a metal billy to send, along with many other billys, on a ship to troops based in North Africa. They hope that the billies will arrive in time for Christmas. I could not help but feel the love of a son towards his father and be reminded of all those who gave of themselves for the betterment of others. This book is well written and the illustrations help connect the reader to the era that this book is set.

I am pleased to have this book in our library's collection.
