Tuna rāua ko Hiriwa

08 August 2019

This book tells the purakau (story) of how the eel got its silver belly. I would recommend this for use in any year 9-10 reading program especially for a unit looking at myths and legends as this specifically links to how Māori made understanding of the world around them. The sentence structures are complex.

It would also work well for any student researching whakapa ngā ika (geneology of fish).
