Where is it? A wildlife hunt for Kiwi Kids

01 December 2020

I immediately recognised this style and book type from previous works by Ned Barraud and went searching for the others. For lower-level readers and all inquisitive young minds and especially environmentally aware students this is another great publication.

Great detail has gone into the illustrations and the layout of each different environment so children can search, delight in finding and then relating the environments to those that may surround them or that they have visited.

Having a comprehensive glossary at the back of the book allows older readers to be engaged in new knowledge and fact finding missions. Many children of Aotearoa will already be able to relate to the wildlife creatures within the book and make connections to places where they may have already seen them.

This will also encourage exploring new locations when opportunities arise.

I enjoyed rotating the book to look at the detailed illustrations from different perspectives.

I believe it is well priced at $19.99 and an asset to any school or family book collection.
