Zoom invite from authors Anne Goodwin & Mia Farlane Thursday 25 Feb, 8am (NZ-time) Register to be sent the zoom link here: https://www.subscribepage.com/mia-farlane-anne-goodwin-discussion Anne Goodwin and Mia Farlane will be reading from and discussing their debut novels at an online event on Wednesday 24 February, 7pm GMT (Thursday 25 Feb 8am, in Aotearoa) Anne Goodwin writes fiction for the freedom to contradict herself. During her career as an NHS clinical psychologist her focus was on helping other people tell their neglected stories to themselves. Anne Goodwin’s debut novel, Sugar and Snails, about a woman who has kept her past identity a secret, was shortlisted for the 2016 Polari First Book Prize. Sugar and Snails is published by Inspired Quill and available through them or other major major online retailers. 10% of the profits made from Sugar and Snails goes to the charity Gendered Intelligence. Anne writes reviews at Annethology Mia Farlane was born in Aotearoa/NZ. She is the author of Footnotes to Sex (Viking/Penguin), a novel set in London and Paris, that Sarah Waters describes as ‘wonderfully impressive, subtle, smart and very funny’ and Bidisha as ‘Seinfeld meets Dorothy Parker’. Mia Farlane writes darkly humorous literary fiction re flailing relationships (Viking/Penguin), failed intimacies and mental health. Novels set in Paris, London & Wellington. She also writes bilingual reviews at Farlane on French Writers.
