Book Group Meet Up @ Tūranga Thu 6 May 6:00PM

18:00 pm
19:30 pm
Tūranga (Level One, Activity Room)
60 Cathedral Square
We're holding two FREE face-to-face events so you can meet with other like-minded people who want to be in a book group, form connections and get the most out of their reading. RSVP to the event that suits you best and we'll send you a reminder closer to the time. BDS staff will be there to welcome you with drinks and nibbles, facilitate the evening and answer any questions you may have. We'll even have everything you need to start a new group if you find some kindred spirits on the night — yes, you can leave with your first bag of books! To RSVP please email with your name, any dietary requirements and the event you would like to attend: Thu 6 May @ Tūranga (Level One, Activity Room) or Wed 19 May @ Brew Academy Both events will run for approximately one hour between 6:00PM and 7:00PM. Further information: What is Book Discussion Scheme? BDS is a monthly book subscription service for your book group. We make running a book club easy, with enough copies for everyone in your group to read the same book at the same time! How does it work? Groups choose their own list of books from our catalogue of over 1,150 titles (and counting). We also provide professionally-prepared discussion notes to help you get the most out of your book club meetings. How much will it cost? A one-year membership generally costs $70 per person. But if you have fewer than seven members, there's a minimum group fee of $455 which gets split between the group. Also, if you're the convenor, you get a sweet 50% discount in recognition of your organisational prowess — a one-year convenor membership is just $35 For groups registering with BDS for the first time, there is a one-off $30 registration fee. Should you decide to start a group after the meet up, you will need to pay this fee before taking your first book bag and pay any remaining membership fees before your second meeting.
