Unity Books & The Cuba Press warmly invite you to a lunchtime event with poets Saradha Koirala & Nicola Easthope as they read from their new poetry collections.

ABOUT 'PHOTOS OF THE SKY' Saradha’s new collection, 'Photos of the Sky', starts with a declaration; ends in realisation. In between is a journey of reaching across the Tasman, shifting to a new home, reaching a place of disquiet and starting again. The full spectrum of emotions brings with it rain, sweat, tears, wildflowers and the promise of snow. ABOUT SARADHA Saradha Koirala is a writer and teacher living in Melbourne, after relocating from Wellington. This is her third poetry collection, after Wit of the staircase and Tear Water Tea. She also published a novel, Lonesome when you go, in 2016.

ABOUT 'WORKING THE TANG' From the Orkney Islands to Coastlands shopping mall, 'Working the Tang' is liberally seasoned with salt and spit, kelp and wrack, and the creatures who live within coo-ee of the sea.Nicola Easthope writes of the ghosts of her British ancestors, and the ocean between them and the life she lives in Aotearoa New Zealand, where people tweet and spat, go camping and kitesurfing, and freewheel the shore on TradeMe roller skates. And David Bowie is here too!

ABOUT NICOLA Nicola Easthope is a poet, reader, teacher, partner and mum. She’s a champion of children, teenagers, and activism for a more just, green and peaceful world.Exploring her ancestral roots – Orkney Islands, Scotland, Wales and England – she also reflects on what it means to be Pākehā supporting Te Tiriti o Waitangi in Aotearoa. Nicola lives on the Kāpiti Coast with her family. This is her second collection of poetry
