The New Zealand Society of Authors Te Puni Kaituhi O Aotearoa (PEN NZ Inc) Regional Roadshow brings professional development to the regions. We are delighted to be coming to Tāmaki-makau-rau for our third Regional Roadshow of 2022! NZSA Regional Roadshows are organised in partnership with local NZSA branches to build collegiality, connection and new opportunities for professional development in local settings. What’s on: * Welcome with Vanda Symon * Opening Kōrero: Witi Ihimaera in conversation with Vanda Symon. * Masterclasses: Poetry Masterclass with Siobhan Harvey; Creating Authentic Characters with Brannavan Gnanalingam; On Vulnerability: A Creative Non-Fiction Workshop with Lana Lopesi; Short and Sharper – Taking your flash fiction a step further, Jack Cottrell. * Workshops: How far can we stray from the Truth with Gigi Fenster; What Makes a Story with Airini Beautrais; Who are You? Creating a Successful Protagonist with Tina Shaw * Presentations & Discussions: Getting Through the Hoops: Gigi Fenster, Mikaela Nyman, Elizabeth Kirkby-McLeod. Chaired by Siobhan Harvey; Creating Best-sellers with James Russell; Writing Outside Ourselves, Amy McDaid, Mikaela Nyman.
