9 Edward Street
Fresh off his first tour of the UK, performance poet Ben Fagan is launching his new book 'Some Traveller' at Poetry in Motion's April event.
There will be an open mic in the first half and we'd love to hear your work.
Door charge is $3-$5.
ABOUT THE BOOK:
Welcome to the big city. You've spoken to friends and family, downloaded all the right apps, joined the facebook groups, but still feel lost. The last thing you need is more advice, so here's a hot tip: this book of poetry can help.
Some Traveller shares stories of love, death, family and what happens if you wear jandals in London after it's been raining. This collection will encourage any future travellers and give company to those feeling far from home. Also, puns.
ABOUT THE POET:
Ben is a spoken word poet and producer from Wellington and Te Matau-a-Māui. He is a TEDx performer and organiser and has shared his work across the UK, USA and NZ. Recently Ben has taken two poetry shows to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and been recently featured on 1 News. Alongside UK Slam Champion Sara Hirsch, he won the Edinburgh Fringe Anti-Slam and came second in the national finals, making them the second-worst poets in the UK.
