Wellington publisher Landing Press is hosting a quiz night on Race Relations Day – 21 March 2020 – to raise funds for Roshan Learning Centre, an Indonesian charity preparing young refugees for new lives in English-speaking countries. Multi-talented writer and performer Lynda Chanwai-Earle will be the quizmaster. The venue for the quiz, Thistle Hall, is wheelchair accessible. Tickets are $10 per person, with both individuals and teams of up to eight welcome. Individuals will be joined into teams. Tickets include nibbles. As well as prizes for the winning team, there’ll be a raffle for a 50” Panasonic television (thank you, Harvey Norman Ltd). The occasion is very special for Landing Press. It marks the first anniversary of the launch of More of Us – its book of 46 poems by former refugees and migrants from 29 countries now living in New Zealand. Some of those poets contributed questions for the quiz. Books will be for sale at the event. If you’d like to register for our Race Relations Day quiz or want to find out more, please email firstname.lastname@example.org Space is limited, so we advise you to get in quick.
