SPEAKEASY Writers Fest is a two-day writers festival that focuses on the strength and depth of contemporary New Zealand literature.

SPEAKEASY Writers Fest features some of the most captivating authors in Aotearoa today, both fiction and non-fiction. Over two days, we're inviting you to push your mind to be observant, let curiosity take over, and challenge your perceptions with modern literature.

The festival includes talks, interviews, Q&A sessions, and book signings with award-winning authors, poets, adventurers, and scholars. Each of the featured authors has a compelling story or two to share with our audiences.

Featuring: Abbas Nazari, Christine Leunens, Jacqueline Bublitz, Jared Savage, Jo Morgan, Julie Zarifeh, Mat Ward, Rosetta Allan, Zirk van den Berg.

Their books have been selected for the beautiful way they allow readers to discover and explore elements of everyday life, letting them into the lives of others and connecting to characters as they overcome difficulties and challenges.

Book your tickets today, as limited seats are available for each session. Get set for a weekend of ideas and conversations celebrating the written word in fiction and non-fiction forms!

Be inspired by the power of words this July! SPEAKEASY Writers Fest is presented by Taranaki Arts Festival.
