a fine line magazine – for lovers of poetry
Published quarterly by the New Zealand Poetry Society, a fine line is a poetry magazine sporting a new theme for every edition.
In one edition, poems foam with cresting waves. In another, windows inspire both visions and reflections.
Every edition showcases a Featured Poet, which is our way of highlighting the best poems from writers all over New Zealand.
All editions of a fine line are put forward to the annual Best New Zealand Poems.
a fine line magazine is not just for poems. It’s also for talking about the poetry we love.
We publish poetry reviews of books sourced from publishers in NZ and abroad. Our reviewers enjoy engaging with NZ poetry and sharing their own experiences of poetry.
Our feature articles provide writing advice on the craft of poetry, as well as guidance on practical areas, such as poetry publishing.
