“Bombing” into the water is a favourite summer pastime in this community, but one little boy just can’t seem to get it right.
He observes, he plans, he practises, he talks it through with his Nan and gets advice from his friends. Nothing seems to help until he realises that he can be original – he can create his own special bomb with his own special moves rather than copying what others do.
He is supported all the way by his Nan who encourages him and teaches him the basics, but in the end, it is his own imagination and creativity that help him to succeed.
Every page of this book is full of colour, vitality and detail. The text is minimal with the illustrations speaking for themselves.
This is a charming story of perseverance and having the courage and confidence to be original and true to yourself. This is a book that would help to empower any child that lacks confidence to achieve their dream.
Highly recommended for pre-schoolers through to primary aged children.
