Writers in Schools visits

We have over 200 of Aotearoa’s best novelists, journalists, poets, playwrights, screenwriters, essayists, storytellers and illustrators available to inspire your students and staff, either in person or by video call.

One of the benefits of being a Read NZ Te Pou Muramura member school is that we can subsidise the cost of your first Writers in Schools visit each year. School membership costs $100 +GST and the price of a second or subsequent author visit starts at $330.

Please note: Bookings for Term 3 have closed. We are only taking bookings for Term 4 now.

Author tours are booked up until October. If your school would like an author from out of town and we need to tour them to make this affordable, we are only arranging this for visits for 1 November onwards to allow time to plan.
