Opening sentence
In a park not far from an overflowing rubbish bin, four guinea pigs play a very bad game of hide-and-seek.
'Fur Power!' is a comic book about a group of five guinea pigs who discover a box of wigs that hold their own unique superpowers. The guinea pigs then have to decide whether they will figure out the mystery of some disappearing hens or to carry on with their ordinary lives.

At first glance, the cover hooks you in with the colour, font, and characters. The first two pages of the book pique your interest, as it sets the scene of something mysterious happening, and keeps you wondering about the sinister character lurking in the shadows. Even though some things go wrong, the ending message is one of positivity and leaves the reader excited for their next adventure. The book is an easy read, with some words being bolded throughout the story for emphasis. Because of the colourful title, the reader might expect a full colour graphic novel, but inside, it's entirely in black and white. This is admittedly a slight letdown, but the book itself more than makes up for it.

The author has created the characters well, clearly showing their individual quirks. With the sheer variety of events, it makes you feel like you are there watching the whole adventure unfold. Overall, the book is full of humour, creativity, and is an easy read for children.
