Samoa is a guidebook to the country of Sāmoa, written in both English and Sāmoan. It is bright, colourful and well set out, adding to the enjoyment of the book. It gives the history of Sāmoa in easy to understand language, as well as discussing the culture, the people, the language, and their way of life. This book would be perfect for people planning to visit the country, or for those who wish to learn more about the Sāmoan people. The use of bright photographs and colourful font and text boxes is not only attractive, but keep the attention of the reader. It is part of a series of books on different islands in the Pacific, called Moana Oceania. It would work well with a Social Studies class.

This book provides a deeper understanding of the Samoan culture and of fa’asamoa, the Sāmoan way of life. It is the perfect guide to understanding our Sāmoan neighbours as well as Pasifikia culture in general. I highly recommend this book to those interested in Sāmoa. It may seem a little young, but the ideas and concepts covered give a good overview for anyone who is interested in Sāmoa to read.
