Opening sentence
You are bold, talented, unstoppable. And when you stay true to your beliefs you too, can change the world.
'Girls Rule' is an inviting colourful hardback with useful contents and index pages that list 50 notable women followed by their biographies. The introduction states that “through history we find some of the strongest fiercest women who ever lived” -- notable for everything from fighting injustice to dreaming big. The biographies are confined to a double page with a header displaying name, birth/death, country and attributes the woman is recognised for.

The language is easily accessible, while the biographies are enticing and inspiring ranging from historical to contemporary figures including some lesser known. Female figures such as Egyptian astronomer Hypatia appear alongside Russian Anna Politkoyskaya, Beyonce, andJacinda Ardern - acknowledged for her compassion. Also included is Tuaiwa Eva Rickard, NZ land rights activist. The variety of people selected, often describing personal background struggles to achieve a dream, suggests that 'Girls Rule' will have universal appeal allowing readers everywhere to identify with at least one biography. Inspiring!
