Opening sentence
Duck's a duck - and sure of that.
Duck thinks he's a cat, and Mama cat has taught him all sorts of things - how to stalk, pounce and speak 'meow'! Duck decides to spend a day waddling around to find out who lives behind the trough. As he waddles around, Duck meets new friends on the farm, and they teach him new words, but will he be able to learn 'quack'?
The bright pages and bold pictures of 'Duck's New Words' make it a great book to hold the attention and interest of young readers. It would make a great addition to a school library collection, and would make a good read aloud for junior classes.
