Our Grandpa’s a foodie.
Grandpa’s Dashing Dessert is one for the Hairy MacClary fans; the fun type of picture book to draw the kids in, to lull them with rhyme and entice them with goofiness.

The simple story is told from the point of view of the grandchildren, they admire and exclaim over their grandpa who is the king of the kitchen. On this bright summer day Grandpa has made a ridiculous, indulgent, multilayered pavlova and trouble ensues when he tries to wheel it out of the house for a picnic. It’s all dashing and silly antics until the twist in the tail comes in the form of an impressive Grandma.

'Grandpa’s Dashing Dessert' is illustrated with bright coloured and dynamic cartoonish drawing by Lael Chisholm, there are lots of great action sequences and expressive faces. This is a silly and easy picture book to share with children 3-8 and would be a fun addition to a junior classroom or school library.
