Opening sentence
The 35 inspirational athletes in this book might not be superheroes like Muni, but in other ways they're just like him.
A very topical book at the moment, and students are already loving this pukapuka in our library. It is so great to have a book on Olympians from this part of the world. Many of our students got quite excited when they turned a page and saw someone like Valerie Adams or Lisa Carrington. The visuals mean the book is accessible to all ages, as tamariki can easily see from the illustrations which sport each athlete plays, and how many medals they have won by the graphics in the bottom right.
'Oceania Olympians' is really well thought out and very child friendly. Key information is displayed prominently, while each page holds more detail for children who would like to read on. So pleased to have this pukapuka as part of our collection!
