Visitors pointed and whispered, but Anahera was always gracious and calm.
This beautiful book will draw in the interest of any bird lover. Kiwi are a New Zealand icon and valued by so many New Zealander's. This book tells a beautiful story of the life of a special kiwi hen. A hen that has been crucial to Aotearoa New Zealand's kiwi breeding programs.

This book has beautiful detailed, life-like illustrations that capture all the unique features of the kiwi and it's life cycle. It is easy to read and would fit nicely into any Aotearoa New Zealand flora or fauna learning.

All of the students in my class love kiwi. Some had been along to the Otorohanga Kiwi House where Anahera lived so they were able to make good connections with the story. All said they would like to go and visit there one day soon.
