Opening sentence
Oh, I wouldn't do that if I were you.
'Why Not? is a catchy picture story about a girl who's up to no good exploring the library. She questions every word that the librarian says. Luckily the librarian is a bit of a character, with a great imagination and together they explore all possibilities.
My junior students enjoyed this book. They were all able to connect to the 'Why Not' phrase, as what kid hasn't said that. They enjoyed reading along with me where they could. They all particularly loved the twist at the end of the story, as they didn't predict it coming.
The illustrations throughout the story are colourful, bold and capture their attention.
